The Opportunity International Canada Governors Council is an influential group of supporters, lobbyists, networkers and donors who have made Opportunity International's vision and mandate their own.

Believing the poor, their families and their communities are best served by being empowered to work their own way out of poverty, Opportunity International Canada Governors promote the mission of Opportunity in their own communities and take an active role in helping shape the organization as an effective one.

Governors meet with other Governors and staff at regular intervals, sharing ideas and a passion for microfinance. They also participate in educational Insight Trips to meet with clients. Governors make Opportunity International a priority in their giving, advocating and volunteering. Each governor donates or raises $5,000 or more per year. • Meet and work with international speakers and visitors during the year
